Japan's heavy power consumers, including electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steelmakers in the area covered by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) were directly asked by TEPCO to reduce their power consumption on Monday afternoon due to power shortage over the country's severe summer heat.
